National Ready Mixed Concrete Association staff note that ASTM Committee C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates is proceeding with standards activity
National Ready Mixed Concrete Association staff note that ASTM Committee C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates is proceeding with standards activity surrounding pervious concrete mixes and pavements. During last month’s committee meetings in Atlanta, ASTM staff manager Jim Olfshesky told a gathering of about 65 of the steps required to create a new subcommittee which will be in charge of developing the testing standards for pervious concrete. NRMCA’s Karthik Obla followed that with an overview of pervious concrete, areas for standards development and a timeline for standards development. Discussion ensued on the various possible standards that could be created, followed by unanimous agreement that activity should move forward for C09 executive subcommittee approval. The scope and activity of the new subcommittee, likely to be organized in early 2007, were also drawn. More information on the subcommittee can be obtained from Karthik Obla, 888/846-7622; [email protected]
