Oldcastle Materials Group Western Division has announced the appointment of Scott Parson as Staker & Parson Cos. president and chief executive officer, effective January 2007. He has worked in the business founded by his grandfather for 20-plus years, most recently leading Jack B. Parson Cos., Utah’s largest ready-mixed concrete supplier. Staker & Parson employs over 2,000 at more than 25 Intermountain locations, operating as Jack B. Parson, Idaho Sand & Gravel Co, Idaho Concrete Co., and Western Rock Products.
Hanson Pipe & Precast, Inc. has announced four promotions in conjunction with a realignment of its Northeast operations. Sue Tanenbaum, Midwest vice president, assumes added responsibility for the Ohio area and its five facilities. Pat Kelly, formerly the Midwest production manager, has been named Ohio Area production manager. In the Apple Valley, Minn., plant, Cory McKinnon has been promoted from plant manager to production manager; his replacement is Travis Elder, who had been plant foreman.
The changes follow a restructuring that has combined Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton and Sidney, Ohio; Apple Valley, Minn.; and Sioux Falls, S.D., plants into the new Midwest business area. Columbus, Ohio is home to Hanson Pipe & Precast’s Northeast regional office, overseeing Maryland, Minnesota, New England, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Virginia and Ontario properties.
