High Concrete Innovations, Lebanon, Pa., has raised its industry-leading stake in precast/prestressed parking structures and entered the hollow core plank arena by acquiring the assets of Buena, N.J.-based United Precasting Corp. The transaction includes a 91-acre operation serving the Garden State, New York City, metro Philadelphia and Delaware markets, and order logs bearing product for Newark Arena and the new Shea Stadium.
[This] is part of our strategy to achieve significant, profitable growth through cost reduction, innovation, customer service, quality leadership, and acquisition of structural and architectural precasting operations in key markets, notes Tom McEvoy, president of Denver, Pa.-based High Concrete Group.
Adds Gary Graziano, AIA, vice president of planning, product and promotion, We embrace the philosophy of being innovative leaders and building trustworthy relationships. Because we run our plants safely and market aggressively, we anticipate operating at high volumes [and] expect that many of the projects sold for production at the Buena facility will require support from our Pennsylvania operations.
High Concrete Vice President of Technology and Business Doug Lorah will oversee the New Jersey plant operations, including upgrades to the parking-structure component and hollow-core plank lines. The assignment follows his ramp up of the Denver flagship as the largest single-site precasting facility in the U.S., plus a large architectural precast plant in Lebanon, operating as High Concrete Innovations.
United Precast founder John Parrish is continuing with High Concrete in a consulting and sales capacity. The Buena property joins the buyer’s five Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute-certified plants (three Pennsylvania, one Ohio, one Illinois) serving five of the country’s top-10 metropolitan areas.
