As part of its restructuring of its Government Affairs Department, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association has promoted Robert Sullivan to vice president of government and legal affairs, and Kerri Leininger to director of government affairs and PAC activities. Sullivan joined NRMCA in December 2004 as a director of government relations, bringing trade group experience from positions with American Petroleum Institute and the National Governors Association. He was also a staff member of the House Subcommittee on Energy Policy, Natural Resources and Regulatory Affairs and, most recently, worked in the Office of Congressional Affairs at the Federal Transit Administration. Sullivan is primarily responsible for representing NRMCA’s interests in Congress and monitoring congressional action for its effect on the ready mixed concrete industry.
Leininger joined NRMCA in August 2004 and is now responsible for all aspects of NRMCA’s political action committee, including donor recruitment, federal compliance, event management and development of innovative donor programs to ensure active participation by CONCRETEPAC donors.
CTLGroup in Skokie, Ill., has added Charles Hanskat as principal engineer to its Structural Evaluation team. Prior to CTL, he ran his own San Diego-based consultancy. Hanskat’s 30-plus years of engineering and construction experience includes 18 years with tank builder Crom Corp., Gainesville, Fla., where he served in various positions including director of engineering and research and later vice president of engineering. He has also held positions with DYK Inc. and VSL Corp. in California.
Separately, Lawrence Roberts has joined the CTL Materials Consulting team as principal scientist, based in Dover, N.H. Prior to CTL, he held various technical positions over 38 years with Grace Performance Chemicals Division, Cambridge, Mass.
The Association of Equipment Manufacturers, Milwaukee, has named Rex Sprietsma director of Statistics and Market Information, overseeing the domestic and global market data reporting programs. AEM statistical programs cover 200-plus product lines and provide benchmarking and forecasting information at the county, state, national and international levels. The association is also developing in-country statistics programs, starting with China, to provide more in-depth data to program participants.
