Nrmca Develops Quality Award

The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association Research, Engineering and Standards Committee will name up to three company recipients of its Excellence

The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association Research, Engineering and Standards Committee will name up to three company recipients of its Excellence in Quality Award, nominations for which run through the end of 2006. The concept and criteria were established by an RES task group chaired by Jack Holley (Lafarge North America). Awards will be given in three categories based on annual production of the applying entity Û an entire company or a division Û with all candidates representing NRMCA members in good standing. The award criteria are distributed in seven sections that range from management commitment to quality processes of the company or division, and are based on the NRMCA Guideline for Developing a Quality Manual.

Award submissions will be based on a score of 100 percent, as judged by the RES Committee. Applicants are asked to respond to a multiple-choice-type application form that generates their score. Applicants are also requested to submit supporting documentation. Companies or divisions achieving a score of 75 percent or greater will be recognized in each award category at the NRMCA Annual Convention in March 2007. The deadline for award applications is December 31. Entry forms can be downloaded from www.nrmca.org or obtained from NRMCA’s Karen Bean, [email protected].
