Placing first, third, and fourth, Jack B. Parson Companies’ (JBP) mixer drivers captured three of the top four spots at the Fourth Annual Northern Utah Ready Mix Truck Roadeo held earlier this fall at Salt Lake City’s Warner Truck Center. JBP’s victory marks the third out of four years that the Ogden, Utah-based company has won the competition, sponsored by the Ready Mix Concrete Council of the Associated General Contractors of Utah.
Nearly all of northern Utah’s ready-mixed producers were represented by the 31 participating drivers. Roadeo contestants completed a written examination; pre-trip inspection; and, a driving course with 10 skill tests to evaluate competence in maneuvering, backing, turning, and stopping the mixer. Concrete placement and chute handling skills were also judged.
Hearing the results of the Roadeo, JBP Manager Scott W. Parson affirmed, It’s great to work with an outstanding team of talented, skilled, and dedicated drivers. Since my grandfather started our company over 50 years ago, we’ve worked hard to make our business the company of choice for customers and employees. We devote significant time and resources to help train our employees.
