The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association announces a comprehensive education and certification program, plus expansion of its driver-training series.
Certified Concrete Professional (CCP) Four-Track Career Education and Certification Program aims to provide employees a broad range of technical, operational and managerial tools to prepare for long-term careers. It places NRMCA’s current and future education and training offerings under a single umbrella, spanning coursework and seminar programs, a ready mixed-specific learning environment, and extensive collaboration with association members. Program participation requires heavy interaction with peers and experiential learning opportunities to give participants exposure to a broad range of best practices, industry examples and networking opportunities. Offered are four career tracks including Business Management, Operations, Sales and Marketing, and Concrete Technology.
CCP Career Track courses range from Introduction to Concrete Fundamentals, providing a review of basic principles, to Strategic Leadership Capstone that integrates the body of work. Candidates seeking certification are credited with NRMCA coursework along with individual company and independent training programs. Between 96 and 120 hours of coursework, depending on Career Track, must be completed to qualify for certification.
Mentor Driver Series. To support a range of job titles, NRMCA continues to expand its training materials for mixer truck drivers. A new video series addresses increasing external environmental compliance pressures. The first of four videos in the series guides drivers on best-management practices for safeguarding the environment. It’s Up To Us-Part 1 outlines relevant environmental regulations, for example, while explaining how compliance impacts the industry and defining three types of water found at a ready mixed facility.
