In just four days, the Corrections Division of Tindall Corp. installed 60 self-contained, precast cell modules Û 120 double-bunk units Û comprising the expandable Hernando County correctional facility in Brooksville, Fla. According to Division Vice President David Britt, the facility is designed for vertical expansion. Accordingly, a roof of hollow core panels and a single-ply, glue-down topping has been constructed for 12 to 15 years of use. An all-metal roof will be installed on a vertical expansion of the facility in two to three years.

Heating and air-conditioning chases are located on the ground, and air is piped horizontally into each floor of the structure. The jail’s foundation has been constructed to provide electrical mains for the upcoming expansion, and the sewer is sized to accommodate additional cells as well.
