All Star Aggregate Inc. announced recently the sale of its southern Nevada concrete production and distribution business to Silver State Materials LLC, Las Vegas. The asset deal includes All Star Transit Mix’s 500 yd./hour, twin alley plant in North Las Vegas; two other All Star plants on the south end of Las Vegas, plus a local sister business, Buffalo Building Materials; and, Nye County Concrete in Pahrump, Nev.

The properties join Silver State’s four ready mixed plants in Las Vegas-anchored Clark County, positioning the buyer with an estimated fleet of 175-200 mixers; more than 1.25 million yd. annual production; and, a strong platform amid two long-time market leaders, Rinker Materials and Nevada Ready Mix. Silver State was acquired earlier this year from the founding Spurlino family in a deal led by Audax Group, a Boston-based private equity firm that also backed the All Star transaction.

Following their hugely successful turnaround of All Star Transit Mix that began in 2000, All Star Aggregate partners Ennis Jordan, president, and Galen Stockton, vice president of operations, will continue to operate their construction aggregate business, producing premium coarse and fine grades from a quarry southwest of Las Vegas. They and co-investors were represented in the transaction with Audax by Eaton Capital Corp., a Mill Valley, Calif., investment banker specializing in construction materials industry merger and acquisition work.
