Saguaro Correctional Facility, Eloy, Ariz. Û To meet anticipated demand, Corrections Corp. of America’s (CCA) newest six-building facility will add 1,896 beds to the Eloy complex at a cost of approximately $100 million. Located adjacent to the Red Rock Correctional Facility currently under construction, the CCA-Saguaro Facility will comprise 1,032 precast prison cells manufactured and fully outfitted at OPMG’s Chandler plant near Phoenix. In addition to installing all windows, furniture and light fixtures, OPMG will prepaint the cells before shipment to the site.
This inmate housing expansion marks Oldcastle’s fourth CCA prison project. OPMG is also casting, outfitting and erecting precast cells for the CCA-Red Rock Correctional Facility, which is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2006. The Saguaro Facility is scheduled for completion by the second half of 2007.
The general contractor for the Saguaro project is Moss & Associates of Florida, and the Architect of Record is the DLR Group of Nebraska.

Citrus County Facility, Lecanto, Fla. Û Adding 360 beds to Citrus County’s 398-bed jail, CCA is building a $18.5 million, detached, two-story unit, which will house U.S. Marshals Service inmates until the county needs the beds. Besides the housing unit, the facility expansion will include a partially covered outdoor recreation area and a detached medical building.
Oldcastle will produce the 180 precast cells and six precast shower modules making up the inmate housing unit at its sister facility in Jacksonville. The cells will be outfitted with furniture and fixtures at the plant before they are shipped to the site and erected by OPMG.
The general contractor for the Citrus County Facility project is Moss & Associates of Florida, and the Architect of Record is the DLR Group of Nebraska.

Hall County Detention Center, Gainesville, Ga. Û OPMG will manufacture and erect fully outfitted precast prison cells for the new Hall County Detention Center, a 230,000-sq.-ft., 1,066-bed facility costing approximately $54 million. Four-bed cells for the two, six-story housing units comprising the new detention center will be similar to dormitory-style cells. OPMG will manufacture and outfit the precast cells at its Jacksonville, Fla., plant.
The Gainesville detention center is Oldcastle’s first county prison in Georgia. Completion of the project is scheduled for the first quarter of 2007.
Construction manager for the Hall County Detention Center project is Turner Construction of Atlanta, and the Architect of Record is Clemons Rutherford & Associates of Tallahassee, Fla.
