AltusGroup will offer nine day-long seminars next month created for architects, designers, and engineers looking to build lighter, stronger, sustainable, and more energy-efficient structures. Presented by top industry professionals, the seminars will focus on carbon-fiber reinforced precast product design and specification, and afford participants 7.5 AIA-accredited learning units.

Entitled Precast on a Diet: Carbon Fiber Reinforced Precast Û A New Technology for Highly Sustainable Building, the program encompasses these topics: everyday design for sustainable and LEED-friendly building; concepts of thermal performance and moisture management in exterior wall assemblies; sustainable precast design with carbon fiber reinforcement; architectural precast cladding; high performance insulated wall panels; multi-unit residential; and, parking garages.

Running from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., the seminars will occur in the New York City metro area, May 2; Philadelphia, May 3; Washington, D.C.-Baltimore metro area, May 4; Raleigh, N.C., May 9; Charlotte, N.C., May 10; Atlanta, May 11; Cincinnati, May 16; St. Louis, May 17; and, Chicago, May 18. A $50-per-person seminar fee will be refunded at the event for the first 100 registrants who attend at each location.
