The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI), Schaumburg, Ill., has released a major upgrade of its slab bridge design analysis software, Slab Bridge Designer 2.0. Created for reinforced concrete slab bridge design, this software application provides analysis based upon materials, bridge geometry, and Load Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) inputs that meet new AASHTO bridge durability specifications. The software now uses MS Windows screens to easily navigate through the bridge design and resulting analysis.
CRSI worked with BridgeTech, Inc., Laramie, Wyo., to change the software to include LRFD analysis. The updated Slab Bridge Designer 2.0 leads the designer through 12 user screens, (eight input and four output) to determine the design inputs of constant depth, haunched slab, or drop panel bridge decks. The software displays analysis results in graphical, table and XML format in the user screens or web browser windows.
The newly updated product was developed for use by departments of transportation, consulting or structural engineers, and others involved in bridge design and construction. Slab Bridge Designer 2.0 is available for purchase from the CRSI web bookstore, www.crsi.org/ecommerce. CRSI members receive a discounted price. More information can be obtained by contacting CRSI Manager of Transportation Programs Andrea Talley, 847/517-1200, [email protected]; or visiting www.crsi.org
