Tarmac America LLC, Deerfield Beach, Fla., has closed its third deal of 2006, acquiring Miami Valley Concrete of Nokomis, Fla. The early-June transaction includes ready mixed plants in Nokomis, Ellenton, Punta Gorda, and Placida — the latter property also running concrete block. “This acquisition puts us in an excellent position for supplying construction materials to customers on Florida's west coast. We're very excited about this opportunity to expand,” says Hardy Johnson, president of Titan America's Florida Business.

The company began its move into Florida's west coast markets in March with the acquisition of Metro Redi-Mix Co. and Elbrecht Concrete (d/b/a Summit Ready Mix) serving the Tampa and Ft. Myers regions. Those deals brought five ready mixed plants.
