The American Segmental Bridge Institute is accepting entries in the 2005 Bridge Award of Excellence Competition through August 1. The program is open to concrete segmental or cable-stayed structures opened to the public or dedicated between January 2003 and August 2005. Entries are judged in these categories: Long Span and Cable-Stayed (spans > 400 feet); Urban; Mass Transit or Rail; Bridges over Water; and Rural or Viaduct. Entries can be submitted by any project principal, but must include participation of an ASBI member. An Awards jury including state and federal agency officials will review entries and select winning projects by Labor Day. Awards of Excellence winners will be featured in the October issue of Concrete Products, in cooperation with the Institute, and recognized during the ASBI Annual Convention Awards Luncheon, November 7, in Washington, D.C.
