CHILDS TO HEAD PIPE GROUP
The American Concrete Pipe Association has named Matt Childs, director of engineering services, to succeed retiring staff president John Duffy, effective this month. Childs joined the Irving, Texas, group five years ago. In his most recent position, he served as staff liaison to the Technical, Manufacturing/Quality and Government Relations Committees; helped develop ACPA marketing materials; and, planned association training courses. Childs holds a bachelor's in business administration from Baylor University, and bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Texas in Arlington.
Leading ACPA since 1998, John Duffy served the association 26-plus years, dating to 1974, when he joined the technical services staff. The ACPA board plans special recognition for Duffy and his wife Lynne during the group's 2006 meeting, March 5-8, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
