ACI publishes Manual of Practice successor

The American Concrete Institute has released the 2018 ACI Collection of Concrete Codes, Specifications, and Practices. Formerly known as the Manual of Concrete Practice, it serves as the most comprehensive and largest single source of information on concrete design, construction, and materials, with nearly 50 codes and specifications and 200-plus practices—including all guides and reports.

Individual volumes from the ACI Collection are available, plus special online access for multiple users, entire offices and multinational companies. Orders can be placed or subscriptions obtained through ACI, 248/848-3800, www.concrete.org.

The ACI Collection features ACI 318 “Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete,” ACI 301 “Specifications for Structural Concrete,” and ACI 562 “Code Requirements for Assessment, Repair, and Rehabilitation of Existing Concrete Structures and Commentary.” Additional categories are concrete materials, properties, design, construction, reinforcement, specialized application, repair, structural analysis, and innovation, plus popular topics such as slabs, formwork, and masonry. The collection is available as an online subscription, USB drive or eight-volume set of books. Specifically developed for individual users, the online subscription includes access to every new ACI document as soon as it is published, plus metric and historical versions of Institute codes and specifications.

Recent feedback indicated that current and prospective users overwhelmingly indicated the name “ACI Collection of Concrete Codes, Specifications, and Practices” better represents the contents than the previous name.
