NPCA schedules free webinar on OSHA electronic recordkeeping rule

Occupational Safety & Health Administration-wise attorney Melissa Bailey, a shareholder in the Washington, D.C., office of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart P.C., will present an August 17 webinar on the agency’s electronic recordkeeping rule.

Officially known as “Improve Tracking of Workplace Injuries and Illnesses,” it spells a host of changes for employers, some of whom will be required to submit data to OSHA electronically—potentially leading to increased enforcement measures. Additional provisions prohibit employers from retaliating against employees who report injuries, positioning the agency to challenge related disciplinary actions while clouding safety incentive programs and post-accident drug testing protocols. Registration for the NPCA-hosted, noon–1 p.m. (EST) webinar can be obtained here.
