Structural Insulated Concrete Panel Confirmed Ibc/Irc-Compliant

The Emmedue Advanced Building System complies with the International Building Code and International Residential Code, according to International Code Council Evaluation Services (ICC-ES) tests

The Emmedue Advanced Building System complies with the International Building Code and International Residential Code, according to International Code Council Evaluation Services (ICC-ES) tests. The system's structural insulated concrete panels, fabricated on equipment of Italy's Emmedue, suit load-bearing or nonload-bearing wall, floor and roof construction. Architects, engineers and builders in the United States can now design and build with Emmedue panels with full confidence, as their colleagues worldwide have for over 30 years, says company owner Valeria Candiracci.

Emmedue panels are produced domestically by Long Beach, Miss., licensee Insulcretech Inc. (fabrication, sales, engineering). ICC-ES Evaluation Report 2037 report discusses the panelsÌ application in vertical and horizontal, fire- or nonfire-rated, conditions. Available in a variety of types and sizes, they are used for exterior load-bearing walls up to 10 stories high, interior partition walls, floors, and ceilings. The ICC-ES evaluation follows Emmedue panel tests at Texas Tech University and University of Kentucky, respectively, for hurricane or tornado-rooted projectile and blast exposure resistance.

The basic PSME panel has an EPS polystyrene core sandwiched between two layers of galvanized steel wire mesh welded together; two panels, separated by an internal cavity for concrete infill, are used for heavier structural loads. Once connected, the entire panel is enclosed with a 1-in. layer of shotcrete, creating a monolithic grey shell exhibiting high structural, thermal and acoustical performance. Inquiries for panel production licensing can be directed to Emmedue headquarters or U.S. representative Lilia Inc., 310/456-2110.
