New NPCA committee structure boosts market response mechanisms

NPCA directors have approved a new structure of Board and Products Committees, citing their improved capacity “to move quickly to address opportunities and threats” and potential to “provide a meaningful forum in which members can work on specific issues that impact the industry.”

“This structure opens an exciting new chapter in outreach to the precast concrete industry and specifiers, contractors, regulators and government officials,” NPCA notes in a member alert. The new alignment replaces a committee structure in place since 2004, and is drawn as such:

Board Committees

  • Education
  • Engineering and Technology (codes and standards, technical, best practices, sustainability)
  • Outreach (education, marketing and outreach to specifiers, end users, students and faculty)
  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control
  • Safety

Product Committees

  • Above Ground (agricultural, building products and site amenities, stairs, hazardous material containment, walls)
  • Transportation (bridge elements, arches, culverts, barrier, jointed precast concrete paving slabs)
  • Underground (manholes, conveyance/conduit, stormwater, utility structures, sanitary)
  • Wastewater Treatment (septic tanks, grease interceptors, accessories, holding tanks, pump stations)
