Portable mixer washout system gains traction
Concrete Washout Systems, Inc. has announced licensing agreements with two companies that will distribute and service its patent-pending concrete washout and removal system in southern California: Pollution Solutions, Inc. and Monarch Concrete Washout, Inc. Licensed partners will own and operate a Concrete Washout Systems business in their region and handle all sales and service.
A storm water pollution prevention contractor, PSI began servicing the Ventura and Northern Los Angeles County markets at the beginning of 2004 and will open a San Joaquin County satellite later this year. Monarch Concrete, a start-up company specifically formed to distribute and service the CWS, was scheduled to begin operations in Greater Los Angeles and Orange counties last month.
CWS is a portable, self-contained and watertight bin that controls, captures and contains concrete washout material and wastewater. It allows trade personnel to readily wash out concrete trucks, pumps and equipment on site and facilitates easy off-site recycling of the same concrete materials and wastewater, while protecting the storm drain system from potential illegal discharges. This system replaces what CWS officials note are “outdated washout practices that may be costly, unsightly and damaging to the environment as their containment value diminishes due to faulty material, overuse and lack of maintenance.” — Concrete Washout Systems, Elk Grove, Calif., 877/292-7468, www.concretewashout.com
