EPA revisits SCM in procurement guidelines assessment

EPA has opened a public comment period through July 6 on the Agency’s current list of 61 items that are or can be made from recovered materials in eight Comprehensive Procurement Guidelines (CPG) categories, plus recommendations to federal agencies on purchasing such items. The largest category, Construction Products, includes cement or concrete containing fly ash, ground granulated blast furnace slag and silica fume.

A spinoff of assets outside Trinity Industries core Rail and Railcar Leasing and Management Services businesses has created Arcosa Inc., a separate New York Stock Exchange-traded company reporting 2017 sales of $1.5 billion across three groups: Construction Products, with 11 sand & gravel (Texas, Louisiana) and eight expanded shale and clay (Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Texas) plants, plus Energy Equipment and Transportation.
