Concrete formwork engineers and manufacturers continue to orient their systems to construction speed and contractor profitability. Messe München, manager of the bauma 2016 trade fair, April 11-17 in Munich, cites examples of exhibitors’ new and upgraded forming equipment and technology: A new development from Peri, a formwork and scaffolding technology company based in Weissenhorn, Germany, is aimed at foreign markets with a colder climate. Peri combined its proven Maximo wall formwork system with optional, easy-to-mount heating modules. Heating ensures that concreting work can be carried out even at low temperatures since the hydration process is not inhibited. Another Peri innovation set for Munich is an automatic climbing system especially designed for high-rise building cores with medium to large dimensions. New hydraulic units supply the power to climbing hydraulic cylinders, which produce a hoisting capacity of 40 tons. Due to this high load-bearing capacity, large concrete placing booms can also be raised and supported during operation.
