United Materials veteran earns NRMCA Driver of the Year Award

William J. Youngers, based at VCNA United Materials’ Lancaster, N.Y. plant, is the NRMCA Ready Mixed Concrete Delivery Professional Driver of the Year. The award recognizes professionalism, driving competency, customer service skills, and a safety record with no at-fault-accidents nor on-the-job-accidents over a 23-year career. Younger has had no at-fault rejected loads during his United Materials tenure, and hauled an average of nearly 4,500 yards of concrete each of the past three years. He has participated in four NRMCA National Mixer Driver Championships and is a twice-over champion of both the United Materials and New York State Mixer Rodeo competitions.  

Joining Younger among Driver of the Year Award recipients are runners-up Denise Barber of Ozinga Ready Mix Indiana, Wheatfield plant; Mathew Burt of U.S. Concrete West Region, Central Concrete Supply Co., Martinez, Calif. plant; and, Joseph Condello of U.S. Concrete East Region, Eastern Concrete Materials, Jersey City, N.J. plant. An NRMCA affiliate, the Truck Mixer Manufacturers Bureau, will present the winner and runners-up $5,000 and $1,000 checks, respectively. The four delivery professionals will be honored during a March 2 ceremony as part of the NRMCA 2021 Convention, to be held virtually. They will also be featured in the March issue of Concrete Products
