Tool harness

All-in-one tether kits, available in three neatly bundled designs for specific trades, help prevent tool drops from at-height work locations onto crews, vehicles and infrastructure below. Stronghold tethers connect tools to wrists, belts and other anchors. Coils, bungees and swiveling tethers prevent tangles while handling gear, no matter which tool attachment is used. Other kit items include drill boots, tape measure sleeves, webbing with D-rings, tether cinch loops, vibrant orange tool attachment tape, antivibration shackles, wire core swivel screw gates, synching wrist straps, and PPE caddy glove holders.

The concrete and steel crew-ready 11-0125 kit.

The kits abide the new ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 for Dropped Objects Prevention Solutions standard and are aimed at eliminating proper tool tethering procurement guesswork. The three kits cover more than 15 different trades; the 11-0125 suits concrete workers, riggers, welders or ironworkers by securing hammers, pliers, levels, spud wrenches, combination wrenches, tape measures, squares, clamps and cordless tools. Companion kits are tailored to scaffold workers and general construction.

“After closely studying the work patterns and challenges of a wide variety of workers at height, we’ve bundled together their most commonly-used tools, customized for specific duties, to make it quick and easy to prevent drops,” says Pure Safety Group Product Manager Mathew Moreau, who chairs the International Safety Equipment Association Standards Committee for Dropped Objects Solutions. “We’re hoping to reduce the 278 deaths and 52,700 injuries a year in the U.S. caused by dropped objects. Providing kits by trade, we can help professionals safely work while being productive.” — Stronghold/Pure Safety Group, Houston, www.puresafetygroup.com
