The ACI Foundation Strategic Development Council has elected CECO Concrete Construction Vice President of North Operations Phil Diekemper as director for a term ending in 2022, and Euclid Admixtures Canada President and Euclid Chemical Inc. Vice President Claude Bedard as returning director. They join an SDC board comprising Chairman Charles Hanskat; Immediate Past Chairman Joseph Sanders; and, Directors Kirk Burns, Rodney Chiodo, Beverly Garnant, John Hausfeld, Carl Larosche, Brad Malmsten, Claudio Manissero, Charles Nmai and Glenn Schaefer.
The International Code Council and the ICC Evaluation Service fostered existing client relationships and established new connections with building professionals from around the world during the seventh annual Design and Construction Week in Las Vegas. Returning as major NAHB International Builders’ Show sponsors and exhibitors, ICC and ICC-ES sponsored a series of networking and educational events.
“The connections and feedback from people we meet during the event help us to continue the work of developing codes and standards that provide building safety and resilience for communities around the world,” says ICC Board President Greg Wheeler. Along with Council directors and staff, he met with industry leaders from NAHB and other organizations throughout the week to discuss changes and trends in the built environment. At the same time, many manufacturers or suppliers applied for testing, product listing and evaluation services at the ICC-ES exhibit.
