The Precast Show 2020, staged earlier this month in Fort Worth, Texas, saw more than 4,000 attendees, 350 exhibitors, 100-plus hours of live education and various special events. The National Precast Concrete Association and Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute jointly hosted the event.
The trade show’s healthy mix of longtime suppliers and new exhibitors filled the Fort Worth Convention Center with the latest products, equipment, services and technology for precast concrete producers. Attendee and exhibitor numbers indicate a thriving industry, according to NPCA President Fred Grubbe. “After speaking with a number of exhibitors, it is clear that demand on the show floor is the strongest it’s been since the recession,” he affirms. “Not only does the high attendance number speak to the demand for products and services offered on the show floor, but also to the investment that company owners are making in their people. This year we graduated a record number of individuals from our Production and Quality School and also had high attendance at our classes.”
The group announced its 2020-2021 class for Leadership NPCA, held a graduation ceremony for 49 Master Precasters and ten 2019-2020 Leadership NPCA students, while also presenting numerous awards for safety and best practices. In conjunction with the NPCA Foundation and PCI Foundations, student participation in the Precast Show remained strong this year, with networking, poster display and design competition activities. PCI also held its annual convention and joined the Canadian Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute and Cast Stone Institute in contributing to the overall education program.
