Bob Cartmel has joined GCC of America as vice president of U.S. Ready Mix. He arrives with 25-plus years’ experience as Lafarge Canada president and chief executive officer, regional president of Aggregate and Concrete, and vice president of Strategy and Business Development.

Cartmel succeeds Doug Roark, who served in the U.S. Ready Mix post and as vice president of Energy & Environmental for 14 years. In a transition to vice president of U.S. Cement Operations, Roark will be responsible for GCC’s five plants, supplying Southwest, Rocky Mountain and Upper Midwest markets.

“Doug’s experience and knowledge across the GCC business and operations will help us build an even stronger company focused on serving our customers and operating in a more sustainable manner,” says GCC U.S. Division President Ron Henley. “Bob’s day-to-day operational knowledge is matched by his vision and passion to build stronger, more cost-effective companies.”
