OSHA committee reviews confined space, PPE fit requirements

The U.S. Department of Labor will convene the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health to discuss proposals to add a reference to the OSHA definition of “confined space” that applies to welding activities in construction, plus clarification of agency requirements for the fit of personal protective equipment. The committee will meet 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 18. Both meetings are open to the public and will be held in Conference Rooms N-5437 A-D at Department headquarters, 200 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 20210.
