Command Alkon bundles TrackIt devices, service in subscription package

Command Alkon’s new TrackIt Turn-Key Service will replace hardware failures or repair warranty issues at no charge to the customer while also eliminating large, upfront capital expenditure. Rolled out earlier this summer, the service offers new ruggedized tablet options—Samsung Galaxy Tab Active II or Panasonic Tough Tab B2—with replaceable batteries and new, fully functional and reliable engine interface devices.

“We’ve bundled together all the hardware, technology, engine connectivity devices, and installation into a single predictable monthly package,” says Command Alkon Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Success Monty Newport, noting that the service helps “customers avoid the risk and the large, upfront capital expenditure associated with hardware procurement, installation and functionality.”

“TrackIt Turn-Key Service was developed in response to customer requests, and reflects Command Alkon’s commitment to deliver A+ Customer Experiences,” he adds. “Engineers have been working hard to find the most dependable hardware that we can provide for the TrackIt platform in our customers’ trucks.”

Concrete producers requiring robust engine diagnostics also benefit from the TrackIt Turn-Key Service solution. A new Engine Data Connection (EDC) device is optional, along with a specialized software stack from a company called Noregon, which will provide customers with more reliable, and more overall engine data than previously available. The combination of the EDC device with the software will allow fleet owners and operators to easily capture and transfer the engine diagnostic data from their trucks.
