BFS opens HawkeyePedershaab to bigger manufactured-concrete picture

A merger with BFS Betonfertigteilesysteme GmbH positions HawkeyePedershaab Concrete Technologies Inc. to expand its concrete pipe and manhole machinery presence, and offer new product lines serving the pressure pipe, manhole, pole plant, and block & paver end-markets.

“BFS has a history of developing and producing high quality prefabricated concrete-production machinery,” says Daniel Bühler, co-managing director of Blaubeuren, Germany-based BFS. “Combining with HawkeyePedershaab greatly enhances the solutions we can offer to our collective customer bases.”

The merger will see Bühler and co-managing director Klaus Mueller continue with the business. It is the second major move for HawkeyePedershaab under St. Louis-based BW Forsyth Partners, which acquired the company in September 2016 and closed a strategic bolt-on deal for New Hampton Metal Fabrication Corp. last fall.

“BFS’s products, and diverse customers and applications, strengthen [our] vision of building a leading global supplier of production equipment for the precast concrete industry,” affirms HawkeyePedershaab President Brad Schmidgall. “Our companies know each other well, and we are honored to be unifying our teams and sharing our people-centric culture.”

“BFS’s leading brand, strong team and solutions-based product offerings make this an ideal opportunity for both companies,” adds HawkeyePedershaab CEO and BW Forsyth Managing Director Ryan Gable. “We are thrilled to partner with BFS, and believe this combination will provide long-term growth and value to our customers, suppliers and the great teams at both companies.”
