Participants in northern Illinois and Indiana town gatherings and community events have seen the concrete mixer truck in a cheerful light this holiday season thanks to Ozinga Ready Mix Inc., Mokena, Ill.
The industry’s largest independent operator tapped team members from multiple departments for the Merry Mixer: A 2017 Kenworth T800-mounted, McNeilus Bridgemaster outfitted with 20,000-plus LED lights and two 250-watt outdoor speakers broadcasting Christmas music channeled through a 400-watt amplifier. Spread across the hood, grille, fenders and drum, the lights operate in tune-driven sequences.
The Merry Mixer debuted at the Mokena Parade of Lights, near Ozinga RMC headquarters, and has made its way to holiday season observances throughout Illinois and Indiana.
