Participants in northern Illinois and Indiana town gatherings or community organization events will see the concrete mixer truck in a cheerful light this holiday season thanks to the industry’s largest independent operator.
Ozinga Ready Mix tapped team members from multiple departments for the Merry Mixer: A 2017 Kenworth T800-mounted, McNeilus Bridgemaster outfitted with 20,000-plus LED lights and two 250-watt outdoor speakers broadcasting Christmas music channeled through a 400-watt amplifier. Spread across the hood, grille, fenders, drum and ladder, the lights operate in tune-driven sequences.
The Merry Mixer debuted the week before Thanksgiving at the Mokena Parade of Lights, near Ozinga RMC headquarters, and is making its way to holiday season observances throughout Illinois and Indiana. The producer is working with local organizations to dispatch the truck to those especially in need of holiday cheer, posting scheduled appearances here.
