Q Power ash contract positions Charah for New York, Pennsylvania deliveries

Charah continues build out of its near-national MultiSource Class F and Class C fly ash terminal network through a new management contract covering coal combustion products from the Scrubgrass Generating Plant, Kennerdell, Pa.

Equipped with owner Q Power’s patented processes, the plant generates high quality Class F ash, which Charah will supply to concrete producers in Pennsylvania, New York and across the Eastern U.S.—especially markets in which supplies of the material have been constrained in recent years.

“This agreement will allow for the project to be more competitive as a merchant electric generating plant, and deliver a high quality fly ash while focusing on emissions and pollution reduction,” says Scrubgrass General Manager R.J. Schaffer.

“Our innovative solutions and superior service will support Scrubgrass and their consumers,” adds Charah Vice President of Ash Sales and Marketing. “Our growing MultiSource network also ensures that we are able to provide a steady and reliable supply of ash for concrete producers throughout the U.S.”
