Clearwater, Fla., water and energy technology specialist Kemco Systems has appointed David Lemen as vice president of Sales and Marketing, where he will lead the team’s water reuse and thermal energy recovery sales force. He has spent the last 11 years in the water and wastewater industry with Evoqua, most recently as business development manager for North American service products.
Besser Co. has promoted Grant Fluent to Pipe and Precast customer service manager, based in Sioux City, Iowa, and responsible for leading department representatives and purchasing activities. Fluent has spent the last six years in Besser sales and customer service, following more than two decades in engineering. He will continue to field inquiries for parts, technical support and service, along with new pipe equipment and conversion requests, while participating in the American Concrete Pipe Association Annual Short Course.
Separately, Besser has named Scott Kennedy to a newly created position, Pipe Division technical service manager, where he will lead a team performing machine work in the field and conducting comprehensive training programs for customers. Kennedy joined Besser as production specialist in 2007 after the sale of a family pipe and precast business where was introduced to concrete production more than three decades prior.
The Roanoke Cement Co. Troutville plant has again been honored by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star program for major energy reductions. The only cement company in the Commonwealth of Virginia, RCC has achieved 11 straight Energy Star certifications in one of the country’s most energy- intensive industries.
In a recent gathering to mark the certification, U.S. Representative Bob Goodlatte (VA-6th) of Roanoke noted, “RCC is well-known as one of the largest employers and taxpayers in Botetourt County. Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing LLC is acquiring the U.S. and Canadian operations of Mascot Truck Parts, a leading provider of remanufactured driveline components for the heavy- and medium-duty aftermarket. The transaction enables Detroit Reman to strengthen a commitment to what management notes is “a superior customer experience in the driveline aftermarket.”
Mascot Truck Parts will keep all operations and support functions at its Remanufacturing Centers of Excellence in Plainfield, Ind., and Mississauga, Ont., and continue shipping within 24 hours from 28 logistic centers in North America.
“Mascot’s portfolio complements our driveline products,” says Detroit Reman President Sanjiv Khurana. “We will also be able to leverage Mascot’s national footprint to offer a better customer experience and faster turnaround time.”
Mack Truck has named Joseph Favia as U.S. Central Region vice president, responsible for increasing market share and profitability. He began his career as a Chicago Mack salesman, advancing to roles of increasing responsibility, and most recently served as Mack North Central District sales manager.

Joe Kolb has been appointed president of Mitchell, S.D.-based dump and tanker manufacturer Trail King Industries. He succeeds Bruce Yakley, who is transitioning to the chief executive officer post. Kolb joined CC Industries in 2005 as director of Strategic Sourcing and was promoted to Trail King vice president of Supply Chain in 2011.
