Concrete Industry Management program supporters have begun pooling equipment, tool, travel package and other donated items for the 2018 CIM Auction, January 24 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Customarily scheduled on World of Concrete day two, the event will see silent bidding from 11 a.m. through the 1 p.m. live auction start.

“Proceeds will benefit the CIM National Steering Committee and support current [degree] programs at Middle Tennessee State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Texas State University, and the California State University – Chico, as well as help fund scholarships,” says Auction Committee Chairman Mike Philipps. “The concrete industry has responded with tremendous support.”

“The annual CIM Auction is a critical funding mechanism for the CIM [National Steering Committee],” adds CIM Marketing Committee Chairman Brian Gallagher, who credit World of Concrete Show Management as “an amazing partner for CIM.”

Committee members aim for a record event in 2018, building on $875,000 in gross revenue the auction logged earlier this year. Past auction items have included concrete mixer trucks; cement and fly ash loads; skid steers; saws, drills, screeds and vibrators; scaffolding and safety equipment; decorative concrete tools; plant components; computers; and, sports or leisure travel packages. Individuals or companies interested in donating to the 2018 auction can contact Mike Philipps, 832/472-2314, [email protected].
