PRODUCERS – JULY 2017

Lehigh Hanson Inc. will acquire the 13 ready mixed concrete and nine aggregate operations of Saunders Companies, whose roots trace back more than a century in central New York. Set for a third quarter closing, the asset transaction will be effected through subsidiary Hanson Aggregates New York LLC, which has 14 ready mixed, 19 asphalt and 23 aggregate sites—many along the Interstate 90/New York Thruway corridor.

“The acquisition will enhance our aggregates and ready mixed concrete footprint in Syracuse, Ithaca and the surrounding markets,” says Lehigh Hanson CEO Jon Morrish. “These assets are an ideal strategic fit with our existing operations in New York state, and we expect a number of operational efficiencies and synergies as a result.”

Wisconsin-based precast/prestressed producer Spancrete has added two new business development managers to its team in Newnan, Ga. Edward Lee and George Wolfe will serve customers in the Southeast and, management notes, “help maintain Spancrete’s standard of precast product excellence [and] deliver an exceptional customer experience in design.”

Lee has 30-plus years of precast and concrete sales experience, identifying potential customers, establishing relationships, and helping develop designs that meet owners’ building needs. Wolfe brings eight years of precast concrete experience in quality control, drafting and engineering capacities; his business development duties will include value engineering designs to best deliver on customer vision.
