The NRMCA’s 1st Annual Safety Award, backed by the Truck Mixer Manufacturers Bureau, acknowledges the significant contribution of safe work practices to the growth and success of individual companies and the ready mixed concrete industry. It will be presented to an individual or company whose actions—in day-to-day operations or an emergency—represent the highest in the advancement of safety in the industry.

NRMCA cites among nominee candidates a mixer truck driver whose actions were life saving; plant or safety manager who has an outstanding, long-time dedication to safety and health; or, an individual with demonstrable involvement in community safety activities. The award might also recognize a corporation, coalition or organization that has been unrelenting in its pursuit of safety for the industry.

Criteria for selection of the individual or company may include evidence of the following: reduction of accidents/incidents; identification, evaluation and control of hazards; development of safety-conscious policies and procedures; collaborative and proactive work towards improving safety; and, mentoring of others in safety.

Nomination files can be obtained here and must be submitted to NRMCA Gary Mullings, [email protected], by June 30.
