NRMCA opens 2017 Environmental Excellence Award Program call for entries

NRMCA is accepting entries in the 2017 Environmental Excellence Awards Program through July 28. The competition offers producers national recognition for outstanding contributions to protecting the environment and maintaining sound management practices. Any NRMCA member company producing ready mixed concrete from a fixed plant location in the U.S., its territories or Canada is eligible to enter. The NRMCA’s 1st Annual Safety Award, backed by the Truck Mixer Manufacturers Bureau, acknowledges the significant contribution of safe work practices to the growth and success of individual companies and the ready mixed concrete industry. It will be presented to an individual or company whose actions—in day-to-day operations or an emergency—represent the highest in the advancement of safety in the industry.

Eric Olsen, the charter chief executive officer and lone American-born director of LafargeHolcim, has resigned effective July 15, noting how two years after the Lafarge Group and Holcim Ltd. merger, the business “has everything it needs to successfully transform the industry and build sustainably our future world.
