Based in the United Kingdom and represented in North America by Lift-Tek, B&B Attachments has developed the Beam Grab, a forklift attachment with optional lifting hooks and rubber pad gripper. The device is designed to pick up a range of different sized elements. A universal crane mounting plate enables the attachment to suit various adaptors; quick release couplings ease the switch to alternative attachments when required.
Initial Beam Grab users have included the United Kingdom’s Lynx Precast, a specialist in the design, manufacture and installation of precast concrete flooring systems. The producer has invested $2.5 million-plus in its T-beam and hollowcore operation, the only such facility in the northeast of England. It is now equipped to supply a complete range of traditional or insulated beams and block, hollowcore slabs, stairs and landings. Lynx Precast caters to customers across the building and construction sector: home builders, general or heavy/civil contractors, builders’ merchants and do-it-yourself practitioners.
The producer understands that a) each site and customer has different delivery requirements and expectations; and, b) when delivering product, vehicles and material handling attachments must be specified to suit. To boost customer service, Lynx Precast contacted B&B Attachments to supply beam grab attachments. Fitted to the producer’s crane-equipped delivery vehicles, the devices assist in the smooth transfer of beams where “supply only” customers do not require the aid of mechanical offloading facilities on site.
