Burice Woods, a 37-year veteran of Burlington, N.C.-based Chandler Concrete Co. is NRMCA’s 2017 Ready Mixed Concrete Delivery Professional Driver of the Year. Based at a Roxboro, N.C., plant, he is honored for career achievements, outstanding safety record, professionalism, driving competency and customer service skills.
Woods tops a field of NRMCA member-nominated peers from across the country. He has averaged 3,400 yd. of ready mixed deliveries over each of the past three years, and received the 2015 Chandler Concrete Driver of the Year and 2016 Carolinas Ready Mixed Concrete Association Lifetime Achievement Awards. He will be honored in a March 5 luncheon during the NRMCA annual convention in Las Vegas, along with Driver of the Year runners up Jeff Acuna of the Central Concrete Supply Co. Martinez, Calif., plant; Michael Castellanos of Right Away Redy Mix, Oakland, Calif.; and, Sylvester Wallace of Titan Virginia Ready Mix, Norfolk. NRMCA affiliate, the Truck Mixer Manufacturers Bureau, will present Woods a check for $5,000 and the runners up checks for $1,000.
