GivenHansco’s On-Delivery Mobile App customizes driver, order tracking

Following a successful field test with Pennsylvania’s Silvi Group, GivenHansco is launching the Android device-compatible Keystone On-Delivery Mobile App, programmed to optimize daily driver operations in ready mixed concrete delivery. An extension of the advanced Keystone Office suite Dispatch, On-Delivery is billed as the first-of-its-kind mobile technology, providing a personalized live business app experience that can be tailored to producers’ specific fleet and delivery professional needs.

GivenHansco programmed On-Delivery to optimize ready mixed delivery operations.

GivenHansco designed and wrote On-Delivery in-house from the ground up. Paired with Keystone Dispatch, the app delivers the capabilities ready mixed producers need to schedule and track drivers and trucks on one screen, including truck routing; asset tracking; dispatch ticket information; pre-and-post trip data collection; and, continuous order/status updates throughout the delivery process. Implemented into daily mixer driver operations, programmers note, On-Delivery’s logistical power and flexibility streamline essential driver tasks to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Its clean, modern design is responsive, easy to use, and affords a multitude of functions that provide an immediate overview of vital driver delivery information from plant to job site that can be leveraged from virtually anywhere, including:

TRUCK ROUTING

  • Voice guidance and visual navigation to and from the job site;
  • Truck-specific routing to and from the job site based on vehicle dimensions and weight;
  • Utilizes latest traffic information to provide minimal travel time between the plant and job site;
  • Automatic re-routing during transit if traffic conditions change en route; and,
  • Displays current speed limit with audible warning if travelling above the limit.

ASSET TRACKING

  • Updates Keystone GPS with vehicle location and status; and,
  • Keystone Office Driver ID login to accurately track driver hours in Keystone Accounting.

DISPATCH TICKET INFORMATION

  • All relevant ticket information the driver needs; and,
  • Product display including mix batch weights.

STATUS INFORMATION

Drivers can update their status, notifying Keystone Dispatch and GPS in real-time.

PRE-AND-POST TRIP DATA COLLECTION

Drivers can enter odometer reading, fuel, etc. to provide easier reporting and data collection for their business.

SILVI FIELD TEST

In July 2016, GivenHansco leveraged its association with leading Mid-Atlantic ready mixed operator, Fairless Hills, Pa.-based Silvi Concrete, to field test the Keystone On-Delivery. The producer implemented the app into its entire fleet operation for union and non-union plants, including 160 mixer and 11 bulk trucks.

Silvi Concrete used the technology in daily operations for virtually every job, and experienced productivity increases across the board. “The app is innovative because all the information is pulled directly from the ticket instantly. The driver now has all the information (job status, products for load, directions to site) at the onset of delivery,” affirms Vice President of Customer Service/MIS Jeff Davis. The GPS function alone has been a game changer, he adds, as it bypasses radio frequency issues and provides a 60-second versus a traditional radio GPS tracking status ranging from three to nine minutes.

Among other key benefits Silvi Concrete noted during the field test, On-Delivery a) ensures safety with a GPS platform that shows status of high/low bridges en route to site; b) eliminates many new driver issues, enabling them to focus on driving at the onset; and, c) provides Driver Punch In/Out with Payroll integration including Job Code.

The field test provided a real-world platform for in-use driver productivity maximization, GivenHansco affirms. Notably, one of the main benefits realized is the ability to provide a personalized app experience that can be tailored to an operation’s specific needs per request. Silvi Concrete identified key features it plans to have GivenHansco programmers implement, including push-to-talk functions plus status updates sent to Tablet Lunch/Washout/Option, which is currently done by radio.

Silvi Concrete tested On-Delivery at Pennsylvania (headquarters plant shown above) and New Jersey ready mixed operations. Management observed the app’s capacity to improve delivery, production and payroll information flow.

“The key inspiration for On-Delivery is to put the power of Keystone Dispatch in the palm of a ready mixed concrete organization’s hands for daily, driver delivery optimization,” says GivenHansco Vice President Ron Wallace. “Ultimately, it provides anytime, anywhere access to critical driver information.” Keystone On-Delivery, he notes, is a competitively priced add-on to the Keystone integrated product line of Accounting, Batch, Dispatch and GPS offerings. GivenHansco plans on expanding the mobile app platform to support more of the Keystone product line. — GivenHansco, Columbus, Ohio, 614/310-0060; www.givenhansco.com
