The 78th annual Dodge Construction Outlook Executive Conference is set for October 19-20 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Md., culminating in Dodge Data & Analytics Chief Economist Robert Murray’s presentation of the 2017 forecast, a leading benchmark.

The conference draws architects and designers, contractors, engineers and building product manufacturers; for the first time in its history, this year’s program will include a construction outlook for Canada. “The theme of Outlook 2017 is ‘Disruptive Innovation,’” says Dodge Data & Analytics CEO Mike Petrullo. “Quick-thinking construction leaders are leveraging new technologies to overhaul their businesses, and Dodge has already begun advancing the data and software resources we will rely on to accomplish this in an evolving economy.”

Outlook 2017 will open with an October 19 networking reception, 6–7:30 p.m.; presentations the following day run from 8 a.m.–3 p.m. Delivering the luncheon keynote speech is Steve Eisman, a former hedge fund manager and finance expert whose role in predicting the financial crisis of 2007 was portrayed by Steve Carell in the movie “The Big Short.” Additional scheduled presentations include:

  • “The U.S. Economy: Major Issues 2016/2017” by Moody’s Analytics Senior Director Cristian deRitis;
  • “Disruption is the New Normal” by Autodesk Senior Industry Strategy Manager for Construction Stacey Scopano; and,
  • “Canada Outlook” by Dodge Data & Analytics Senior Economist Richard Branch.

Outlook 2017 “Disruptive Innovation” is produced by Dodge Data & Analytics. Sponsors include Modern Marketing Concepts, American Institute of Steel Construction, Society for Marketing Professional Services and Sweets. Registration and additional information can be obtained here.
