RMC Foundation releases driver recruitment, onboarding resources

With an eye to helping ready mixed producers introduce prospective truck drivers to the industry and their own companies, the Ready Mixed Concrete Research & Education Foundation has released two- and nine-minute recruitment videos plus 30- and 60-second radio spots. The videos can also serve as interview and onboarding resources to give candidates and new-hires an in-depth look at “A Day in the Life” of a professional mixer truck driver.

“At a time when concrete producers are at their busiest while also competing with other industries for new drivers, it is essential that our industry has access to easily-implemented resources that will increase outreach and draw new professionals to the industry,” says RMC Foundation Chairman Matt Wood (Ash Grove Cement Co.). “These resources meet that need [and] help to highlight the positives of becoming a professional mixer driver, such as being home-based and helping to build their community, benefits which will also help bring new blood to the concrete industry.”

“The development and release of these new driver recruitment resources is very timely when the need for additional drivers is at its peak,” adds RMC Foundation Executive Director Julie Garbini.

Large video and audio clip files can be downloaded from www.rmc-foundation.org, or viewed on the RMC Foundation YouTube page. The files will be added to a special edition USB key containing most of the Foundation’s deliverables to date.
