Bluetooth technology enables remote tracking of employee air-sampling

Company has introduced the next generation of its personal sampling pump: the Apex2 featuring Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity and supporting Airwave app. The technology enables managers or supervisors to remotely monitor dust or other airborne contaminant levels from employee breathing zones on an Android mobile device up to 75 feet away.

The Apex2 is designed for use in extreme environments owing to a rugged sealed housing. It is rated IP65 resistant to water and dust ingress, and has a smooth finish for thorough decontamination. Other field-proven features are its sturdy clip for mounting securely on the wearer; optional detachable rubber boots to give even greater protection; and, a motion sensor that records movement to confirm the pump was not stationary while it should have been worn.

The Apex2 pump pulls prodigious back pressure levels with minimal pulsation, product developer note, yet is unobtrusive to wear, simple to use, and easy to maintain. With high performing lithium ion batteries and intelligent battery indicator, it also lets users safely know how much expected run time remains before recharge. Available in Apex2, Apex2 Plus and Apex2 Pro models, the latter two including the Airwave App. Casella CEL Inc., Buffalo, N.Y., 800/366-2966; www.casellausa.com
