NRMCA department shift prioritizes Local Paving, Building Structures

The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association has restructured its promotion, technical services and sustainability programs and staff into two separate departments. Pending board approval, the National Resource Directors Division, known more informally as Promotion, will be renamed Local Paving and operate under Brian Killingsworth, senior vice president/division head.

Amanda Hult, previously senior director, Pavement Structures, has been named senior director, Local Paving. She will report to Killingsworth along with Senior Vice President, Local Paving Jon Hansen; Senior Vice President, National Resources Glenn Ochsenreiter; and, Senior Directors, Local Paving Phil Kresge and Doug O’Neill. Hiring of an additional director of Local Paving is pending board approval.

Killingsworth joined NRMCA in 2011 and has 20-plus years in pavement engineering. He provides technical expertise and education to producers and their customers to advance application of ready mixed concrete for streets, local roads and parking areas, and represents the association on pavement codes and standards development. Killingsworth is a professional engineer and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University.

The NRMCA Sustainability Division, spanning Buildings and Pavements Departments, will transition to Structures Promotion and Sustainability Department and remain under Senior Vice President/Division Head Lionel Lemay. Continuing to report to him are Vice President, Sustainability, Codes and Standards Tien Peng and Senior Director, Building Promotion Gregg Lewis.

“This restructuring will more accurately reflect the long-term strategic goals of the ready mixed concrete industry and fulfill the wishes of our membership,” says NRMCA President Robert Garbini. “Both Brian and Lionel, and their respective staff, have clearly defined roles, which will no doubt advance [our] overall mission of promoting concrete as the building material of choice.”
