In two retrofits and two transit-to-central mixed conversions, Con-E-Co dealer DHE Inc. has installed Model 12 tilt mixers at the Ameron Hawaii batch plants on Oahu and Maui islands, and also delivered a new Model 12-equipped Lo-Pro 427CM plant. The move to central mixed production at two locations was partly driven by performance requirements for a major bridge deck contract, and to address increasing demand for specialty concretes.

“We serve a broad range of market applications, and are producing a wider range of mixes with higher levels of admixtures,” says Ameron Hawaii Vice President Eric Yoshizawa. “We now have a high degree of standardization with our mixers, and this has operational benefits in terms of parts commonality as well as operator training and moving personnel seamlessly between locations.” The Model 12 drums provide improved control in ready mixed production, he adds, and have the option for variable speed drives—a Con-E-Co exclusive that reduces component wear and splatter volume.

Shipped fully assembled, wired and plumbed for streamlined installation, the Model 12 tilt mixer features a full 12-yd. drum and advanced “Five Star” mixer paddle design for optimum product quality. The 427CM batch plant is engineered to quickly accept optional bolt-on expansion modules, making it easy to grow as production needs increase, and includes a patented “blending” cement batcher to improve mix quality.

Tracy, Calif.-based DHE, Con-E-Co’s full service West Coast representative, handled the central mixed capacity overhaul at Ameron Hawaii, whose headquarters and flagship operation are located on Oahu along the Sand Island Access Road. The producer runs a 60-mixer fleet between the home office and three satellite plants.
