The Building Information Modeling for Masonry (BIM-M) Initiative’s 2015 Symposium, April 9-10, will offer perspective on the latest BIM-M projects and developing masonry practices with the 3-D technology, while featuring presentations from (invited) representatives of Autodesk, Tekla, Vectorworks, Integrus Architecture and Engineering, CAD Technology Center, CADBlox, Tradesmen’s Software, Mortenson Construction and Georgia Institute of Technology.

Northern California’s leading independent aggregate and concrete operator, Graniterock, has issued Environmental Product Declarations covering 30 mixes at three central and two transit mixed plants serving Silicon Valley and coastal markets south. NRMCA certified the documents as an EPD Program Operator, adding them to a growing industry library hosted on its website.

Oldcastle parent prevails in $7 billion Lafarge, Holcim asset pursuit

In a February 2 U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing, CRH cites a binding commitment to acquire certain Holcim Ltd. and Lafarge SA assets, ahead of a planned, mid-year merger creating LafargeHolcim. The commitment centers on a transaction with an enterprise value of about $7.4 billion, and encompasses Holcim Canada Inc. plus a host of overseas cement, concrete and aggregate businesses.
