Mack Trucks has named Brian Layman vice president of Business Development, a newly created post responsible for product segmentation, development and management of sales programs, dealer measurements, plus new-truck sales pricing and quoting activities in North America.
Layman has 14 years’ industry experience, most recently with the Mack Trucks Academy, whose team he led to the 2013 Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Gold Award, recognizing the Master Tech certification process—besting industry heavyweights Microsoft Corp. and United Healthcare in the same category. Prior to joining Mack, Layman spent eight years in various leadership roles in the banking and finance industry. He will remain based at Mack headquarters in Greensboro, N.C.
The parent of Hyster Co. and Yale Materials Handling Corp. has announced a reorganization positioning its lift truck brands to provide customers and dealers greater materials handling solutions and value. With an eye to meeting the equipment needs and fleet management challenges of end-users in specific industries and market segments, NACCO Materials Handling Group (NMHG) has designated three specialized teams—Warehouse, Counterbalance and Big Trucks—led by Jonathan Dawley, president of Big Trucks, and Bill Pfleger, vice president of Counterbalance Solutions, a Warehouse Solutions leader yet to be named.
Under recently appointed NMHG Sales President David Furman, Hyster and Yale sales teams are being aligned under three geographic North American regions—as well as Latin America and national accounts. This new structure strengthens the alignment between NMHG and the Hyster and Yale dealer networks to effectively solve end-users’ material handling challenges. Each region is led by a vice president responsible for maximizing the value the company delivers to customers through the deployment of its industry leading Hyster and Yale lift truck, aftermarket, financing and fleet management programs.
