Rushing heads 2014 ACI officer slate

During its spring convention in Reno, Nev., ACI elected William Rushing 2014-15 president, Michael Schneider vice president to a two-year term, and four members to three-year Board of Direction terms.

Rushing, FACI, is a vice president of New Orleans-based Waldemar S. Nelson & Co., Inc., and chairs the ACI Strategic Plan Drafting Task Group and the Task Group on Managing Translations of ACI Products and Services. He also serves on the ACI Foundation and is a Director for Creative Association Management.

Schneider, FACI, is senior vice president and chief people officer at Monroe, Ohio-based Baker Concrete Construction, Inc., where he has worked for 35 years. He chairs the Strategic Development Council and ACI Foundation, and has been active in the American Society of Concrete Contractors for the past 15 years, serving as 2005-06 president. He also chaired the National Steering Committee for the Construction Industry Management Program from 2010-2012, and co-chaired the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association P2P Task Force’s Contractor Task Group.

Joining the ACI board are Professor Alejandro Durán-Herrera, FACI, who heads Concrete Technology Department  at the Facultad de Ingeniería Civil of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL), Monterrey, Mexico; Augusto Holmberg, general manager of the Instituto del Cemento y del Hormigón de Chile (ICH), Santiago; Colonel Fred Meyer, FACI, deputy head of the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.; and, Michael Sprinkel, FACI, associate director at the Virginia Center for Transportation Innovation and Research, Charlottesville.
