Seven-term Congressman Ray LaHood (R-IL), who served as President Obama’s first term Secretary of Transportation, will keynote this year’s CSHub Showcase, September 25-26 at the Media Lab on the MIT campus.

Geared especially for RMC Research and Education Foundation patrons and Portland Cement Association members, the showcase will kick off the evening of September 25 with reception and MIT researchers’ poster session. The second day will begin with a presentation from the infrastructure-wise Secretary LaHood, followed by updates on Hub concrete science, life cycle cost and environmental research projects.

Interactive workshop sessions are scheduled through mid-afternoon September 26 under these target areas: quantifying pavements’ life cycle cost and environmental impact; quantifying buildings’ life cycle cost, environmental performance and hazard resistance; and, linking molecular modeling to engineering properties in concrete science. Additional CSHub Showcase information, including registration and lodging details, can be obtained here, or from MIT’s Donna Hudson,  [email protected].
